In conjunction with the Cleveland National Air Show, America 's Navy will come home to Cleveland August 30 th through September 6 th . Cleveland has been chosen as a host city for a Navy Week celebration, giving area residents an opportunity to meet some of the Navy's Sailors and learn about the Navy's critical mission and its broad - ranging capabilities. U.S. Navy E-6B Mercury Static Display Confirmed
Strategic Communications Wing ONE
For the first time in Cleveland, the Navy's E-6B Mercury will be on static display. This particular aircraft is part of the "Take Charge and Move Out-TACAMO" mission. The TACAMO is a Navy Air Wing fully integrated on an Air Force Base, carrying out a Navy mission in joint operations. The TACAMO community provides a survivable communications link between national decision-makers and the country's nuclear weapons. In other words, the E-6B Mercury enables the President of the United States and the Secretary of Defense to directly contact submarines, bombers and missile silos protecting our national security through nuclear deterrence.

 FAA'S DC-3 N34
Vintage Static Display Aircraft
The FAA's DC-3 N34 is a "retired" flight inspection aircraft that is used as an aviation awareness static display at air shows around the country. Open to visitors, the exhibit is a beautiful 1940's vintage aircraft that was one of the most successful ever built. The DC-3 proudly displays aviation education and pilot information, tells the history of FAA and CAA (a predecessor agency), and contains information about FAA's contributions to both domestic and international aviation.

U.S. Air Force c-17 Globemaster III Demo 58th Airlift Squadron, Altus AFB
The 58th AS is the nation's only formal C-17 Combat Crew Training School, providing pilot and loadmaster initial qualification and advanced upgrades for all United States active duty, reserve, and guard units. This training includes low levels, assault landings, air refueling, night vision goggle use, airdrop and formation flying in the C-17 Globemaster III.The squadron supports peacetime and contingency operations. Responsible to the 97th Operations Group, the 58th Airlift Squadron directly affects America's mobility capability by training all C-17 crewmembers for the United States Air Force.

The U.S. Navy's F/A-18F Super Hornet is an all-weather strike fighter aircraft that performs fighter escort, fleet air defense, force projection, interdiction, and close air support. U.S. navy blue angels to headline 2010 air show
 Air Show Readies for Labor Day Weekend
LAS VEGAS (DEC. 7, 2009) Cleveland is among 35 U.S. cities selected to host the U.S. Navy Blue Angels in 2010. The Navy's precisions Jet Demonstration Team will headline the 2010 Cleveland National Air Show presented by Discount Drug Mart on Labor Day Weekend (September 4, 5 & 6) at Burke Lakefront Airport.
The U.S. Department of Defense announced the complete 2010 Blue Angels schedule today at the International Council of Air Shows convention in Las Vegas. <More...>

"Stadium" Temporary Flight Restrictions (tfr'S) and the air show
The Air Show will continue to operate concurrent with events that occur at Cleveland Brown's Stadium or Jacob's Field during the same time the Air Show is held. Occasionally the Air Show may have to make minor adjustments to the time civilian acts perform.
